Lobate Scarp – «Spirals And Portals»

«Lobate Scarp’s twist on Progressive Rock music will take you on a unique musical journey» [Lobate Scarp]

🔸 They tried, but sadly they couldn’t make it. Lobate Scarp’s recent campaign on Kickstarter came to an end without reaching their goal. It was an all-or-nothing bet, so they won’t get any funds for their 2nd studio album, «You Have It All». Still they’ll keep trying and «making tracks until we have something we can release either as singles, another EP, and maybe eventually a full album!» Cool! Keep it up guys!

🔸 «You Have It All» was planned to be an expansion to their 2019’s EP «Spirals and Portals», taking it to the next level with 7-9 tracks totaling more than an hour in length (including two15-minute epic tracks!) and guesting some prog royalty like Billy Sherwood and Jon Davison (from Yes), and keys man Ryo Okumoto (from Spock’s Beard).

Home Brewed Universe – «The Time Thief»

«The Time Thief sees the multi-instrumentalist walk down a different path» [Home Brewed Universe]

🔸 Composer and guitarist Arka Sengupta is the driving force behind one-man instrumental rock project Home Brewed Universe, hailing from Hyderabad (India). His new concept album, «The Time Thief» (coming out Jan. 20) plays like a soundtrak to a story about a man who, after some freakish chemical accident, gets the power of stealing time from the lives of other living beings to extend his own.

  • Pre-order «The Time Thief» at Bandcamp

🔸 Sengupta lives with 16 cats around that act as a “stimulating environment” for him, as he explains to Rolling Stone India. The melody for the promo-track, “Loop In Translation”, he says, came out pretty much by accident, when his fluffy ginger cat, Puchku, decided to poke around and stepped suddenly on the keyboard.

Fish – «A Parley With Angels»

🔸 Former Marillion’s band leader Dereck William Dick (better known as Fish) has started on early December the recording sessions for his new album, «Weltschmerz», which also will be his last. Nailing the drums is drummer virtuoso Craig Blundell (Frost*, Steven Wilson), whom he met when Craig was playing with Steve Hackett in Edinburgh last November.

  • Get «A Parley With Angels» at Fish

🔸 Fish is planning an «old fashioned double album» and says he has up to 10 songs and about 75 mins worth of music. He recently premiered three songs from «Weltschmerz» on a EP called «A Parley With Angels», where you can listen to the tracks, «Man With A Stick’, ‘Waverley Steps’ and ‘Little Man What Now?’, plus four tracks recorded live at London’s Islington Assembly Hall in 2017.
